Munnar is set by Mother Nature at the confluence of three mountain rivers - Muthirapuzha, Periavurrai and Nallathanni, at 1600 meters (5000 feet) above sea level in the Western Ghats. It was originally a summer resort built by the British planters and some of the old bungalows still bear footprints of the Anglo-Saxon architecture here.
